Plant Based Reese's and Hershey's Candies in their Wrappers

A Vegan Odyssey at Publix: Discovering Plant-Based Treats

During a recent trip to Publix, we stumbled across a variety of vegan chocolate near the checkout area. Out of curiosity, we decided to bring home a few different types to try.

The Unique Reese's Vegan Peanut Butter Cups

Our taste test began with Reese's Vegan Peanut Butter Cups made from oat-based chocolate. These cups were quite different from the traditional Reese's, offering a new vegan twist on a familiar treat. Although I'm typically not a big fan of most chocolates, I appreciate the inclusion of vegan options like these.

Trying Hershey's Plant-Based Chocolate

Next, we sampled Hershey’s plant-based chocolate, which also used oat chocolate. This bar stood out due to its creamy texture, blended with almonds and a touch of sea salt. The flavor was more enjoyable than expected.

Both vegan treats were surprisingly better than I expected. They would be excellent for anyone who enjoys vegan snacks or for distributing chocolate during Halloween. I'm pleased to see such options available, although they weren't my top choice for a cheat day. I have a discerning palate that often finds average chocolate hard to satisfy.
